Lorcana card centering: Enchanted, borders and back guide
Centering Lab · Published and updated:
Lorcana card centering needs two separate decisions: the physical card outline and a printed reference that belongs to the exact treatment. An Enchanted full-art front cannot automatically be measured like its regular counterpart. This guide covers normal frames, Enchanted designs and the reverse without using Disney artwork.
Which format does the Lorcana centering checker select?
The link selects standard calibration, 63.5 × 88.9 mm, from the tool model. These are nominal calibration dimensions, not a Ravensburger production tolerance or an authenticity test. Compare the actual playing card format; do not apply this setting to an oversized promotional display.
Identify the exact release, language and treatment first. Ravensburger's Enchanted introduction documents alternate full-art designs and Inkwash foil for The First Chapter. Its 2026 art discussion confirms that treatments vary by set. Sources consulted: 2 October 2026. A regular printing is not a universal front-frame template for its Enchanted version.
Which printed boundaries are useful on a regular Lorcana front?
If the printing has a continuous outer frame, measure its transition to the inside design on opposing sides. Keep the physical cut as the outside contour. A character's head, title strip, ink symbol or ability box does not by itself define symmetric margins around the whole card.
Select straight portions away from rounded corners and protruding design elements. A deliberately different space below the text is not automatically a cut error. Compare the exact treatment to justify the frame, then measure left/right and top/bottom independently.
How should you handle Enchanted centering?
Full art and foil may remove or disguise a continuous boundary. Move the lighting and check whether the proposed inner line stays on the same printed feature. A shine that moves with the light is not a stable frame. The detector's suggested lines need review rather than automatic acceptance.
If no matching reference exists on opposing edges, leave the front unresolved. Do not measure a character silhouette or impose a rectangle from the base card. Measure the reverse instead and describe it as reverse-only. The diagram gallery shows measurable border pairs, not a method for making missing borders appear.
What should you measure on the Lorcana back?
Check the outer cut first, then a clearly identifiable continuous printed boundary of that reverse. Do not center a logo, circular ornament or central design by eye and call it a border ratio. Verify the chosen boundary around all four sides of the actual card.
Use a separate photo with all corners visible, diffuse light and no holder covering the margin. A clean reverse can produce useful ratios even when an Enchanted front is unresolved, but it cannot establish a combined ceiling for two fully measured faces. The front/back guide explains that distinction.
Which houses have verified Lorcana grading examples?
PSA's certification record documents a Lorcana Enchanted card. CGC's official Lorcana example documents a tournament promo. Those verify grading examples; they do not confirm every current service, language or unusual promo format. Ask the house about your exact issue before submitting.
| House and grade | Front: worse axis | Front: other axis | Back | Status (front / back) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PSA 10 GEM MT | 55/45 | 55/45 | 75/25 | official / official |
| BGS 9.5 Gem Mint | 55/45 | 52/48 | 60/40 | interpreted / interpreted |
| CGC 10 Gem Mint | 55/45 | 55/45 | 75/25 | official / interpreted |
| SGC 10 Gem Mint | 55/45 | 55/45 | — | approximate / — |
Limits apply to both axes separately. For BGS front, the worse axis must meet the loose limit and the other axis the tight limit. — means no separate numerical back rule in this model. A ceiling is not an overall grade.
These four models are a centering comparison, not a Lorcana acceptance directory. At 55/45 on both front axes the PSA model gives 10 GEM MT. A result in that band still says nothing about foil scratches, corners or authenticity. Read the CGC reference for Pristine versus Gem Mint and the limits of the shared TCG model.
Which Lorcana measurement errors can you prevent?
A protective sleeve can create a second cut outline. Remove it safely when possible and use a matte contrasting background. Do not tip a reflective card into a strongly oblique photo just to reduce shine; move the light and retake it from above.
Open the standard-format tool and upload your Lorcana card rather than treating the home demonstration as a matching reference. Keep uncertainty near a band boundary. If one inside line is based on guesswork, a precise-looking number cannot fix that choice. The measurement guide separates contour confirmation from printed-border confirmation.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free Lorcana centering checker?
The link opens the same free browser tool with standard 63.5 × 88.9 mm calibration selected. Website measurements use your device, without photo uploads.
Can Centering Lab measure every Enchanted front?
No. A measurable continuous frame must exist. If full art or foil hides that reference, measure the reverse and leave the front unresolved.
How do I check Lorcana back centering?
Use the physical cut and a consistent outer printed boundary, with a square-on photo and separate horizontal and vertical ratios. Do not use the central ornament as an automatic frame.
Does Enchanted rarity create a different centering allowance?
Rarity does not add a separate band to this model. Use the selected house's standards and assess surface and other condition criteria independently.
Which sources and limits does this guide use?
Tables are generated from the same data source as the tool. Threshold verification: 2026-10-01. Centering standards · How it works.
- PSA: official · retrieved
- BGS: interpreted · unavailable
- CGC: interpreted · retrieved
- SGC: approximate · brief-only · secondary reference
official = published numerical rule; interpreted = model interpretation; approximate = working estimate. retrieved = source retrieved; unavailable = not accessible; brief-only = supplied reference without direct retrieval. Individual band status is shown in the standards: the house-level status does not replace each row's status.
