About Centering Lab: method, sources and editorial policy
Centering Lab is a free card-centering tool and reference published by Centering Lab. It measures opposing printed borders from front and back photographs, explains the measurement method and compares ratios with documented grading models. It does not authenticate cards, assess every condition defect or predict the final grade awarded by a grading company.
What we measure
The engine proposes the physical outline, corrects perspective and proposes printed border lines. You confirm the outline first and the print lines second. Ratios compare opposing borders, not the width of the whole card. Photos with glare, missing borders, sleeves or cropped cut edges can require adjustment or remain unmeasurable. See the measurement method.
A centering ceiling is the highest model band compatible with the measured ratios. Corners, edges, surface, authenticity and the grader’s judgment remain separate. We publish no promise of a particular label, resale value or grading outcome.
Independence
Centering Lab is not affiliated with PSA, Beckett, CGC, SGC, The Pokémon Company, Bandai, Konami, Wizards of the Coast or Disney. Their names and trademarks identify references only. Inclusion of a house or game does not imply approval, partnership or certification.
Editorial policy
Centering Lab is the author and publisher. We prefer grading companies’ official scales and primary documentation. Numerical rules, interpretations and working estimates carry separate labels; an accessible source does not make every model band official. An unavailable or incomplete source is disclosed rather than filled with an invented rule.
Our editorial review target is monthly and whenever an official change or a credible error report is identified. This is a review policy, not a claim that a future review has already happened. Page dates record actual editorial changes. The source-check date records a consultation attempt, including unavailable sources. The calculator model has its own verification date.
Corrections can be reported to hello@centeringlab.com. Include the page URL, the disputed statement and an official reference if available. We check the evidence, update affected translations and record numerical standard changes in the dated log below. We do not publish fabricated testimonials, ratings or success percentages.

Sources
Official scales consulted on 2 October 2026: PSA, CGC, Beckett and SGC. PSA and CGC were readable; Beckett redirected to maintenance, and the complete SGC scale was not readable. These limits remain visible in the grading models.
Our remote MCP service has a real official registry entry. Registry presence identifies the service; it is not an endorsement of measurement accuracy.
